This is done on a first generation 1.83ghz Macbook Pro. The optical drive can also be replaced if you are not happy with your first generation 4x superdrive or 2nd generation 6x superdrive. Just be sure to get the special extra thin 9mm slot load burners. You can also replace the optical drive in the Macbook Pro with a second harddrive if you wish with a special enclosure.
